Golson Spaghetti Sauce...the most commonly requested recipe from our home

This is the recipe that is always requested after someone eats at our home. It is also the hardest one to write down. It is not something that we measure out but I will try to guestimate. I also have no idea how to make it in small quantities, we always make enough to feed an army in case we wanna make some over to the missionaries or share with neighbors.

Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 can (29 oz) Tomato Sauce
  • 1 or 2 can (12 oz) Tomato Paste
  • 1 or 2 can (28 oz) Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 can (8 oz) Mushrooms
  • 2 Onions, diced
  • 2 Bell Peppers, diced
  • 3 handfuls Banana Peppers, diced
  • 1 or 2 can (8 oz) Olives, sliced
  • about 5 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 5 cloves Roasted Garlic
  • 5 lbs Ground Beef

yes it is a lot...again...we only know how to make allot...and we usually eyeball it and taste as we go

Directions

  1. Brown off meat, then drain and rinse and leave in strainer.
  2. Saute onions, bell peppers, banana peppers and garlic till onions are translucent...on Medium-High heat.
  3. Then add sauce, paste, diced tomatoes, olives and ground beef.
  4. Once it starts to simmer and bubble just a bit add the seasoning a Tbsp at a time. Taste after each one till you get to your desired flavor.
  5. It should be a thick and hearty sauce...you can add more sauce to thin it out. You can alter so many things to make it yours. Just do what we do and experiment till you find your happy place.
